A terrific method to create higher list rankings is by effective backlink strategies. One of the most famous if not the most famous search engine is Google. A website owner may pay Google money to advertise on its search engine results pages, or a website owner can work his or her way up the organic search engine listings which are free.
On the left hand side of the search engine page is the organic listings. These listings are free. The objective is to get listed on the first page. But as you can guess there is a lot of competition to get on the first page. One way Google determines which websites get the coveted first page ranking is based on the number of back links a website has. That is links from other websites linking to your website. Google also looks at the content on your website and the keyword distribution related to the content on your website. But let us concentrate on back links for now.
One way to get back links is to contact website owners who have similar information to your website but not exact information as your website. The personal approach is sometimes the best approach with your online business.
If you website is about daily planning and you are promoting and selling day planners and accessories you do not want to contact a website owner who is selling the same items. Instead find a website that is promoting products or services that to with day planning. Find a website for instance on tax planning. People need planning resources if they want to keep accurated records for their tax preparation.
Contact the website owner and say you are willing to put a back link on your website to his website. You can even write an article for him on daily planning and how it relates to keeping tax records. Include a link to your website in your article. He now has new content on his site and you have one more back link.
You can also be a part of internet forums where people are looking for answers to their problems. Yahoo answers is a good place to help people with their problems. You answer their questions and then include a link to your website in the source box. Be careful not to make your answer a commercial for your products or services however or else your answer will be removed by the Yahoo editing staff.
Do not discount article submission for building back links. Submit your articles to a directory with your website link and when it is picked up and placed on a website you will have another back link for Google count in your favor.
But realize that another penalty you will receive from Google is that if you build your backlinks too quickly you will actually drop in the organic search results. So build your links over time. Look at a four to eight month time frame. Be creative with your backlink strategies and you will be rewarded with higher organic search engine listings.
