In our economy today many people are questioning their online appearance and how to proceed with their SEO in regards to making a profit. Most businesses are reducing their traditional forms of advertising in areas such as print media and focusing on online marketing as it more recession proof than any other forms.

Another point to consider in your budget may be to scale down on banner advertising and stick to text advertising for costs purposes. Let us look at some ways to make the most of SEO without breaking the budget.

Articles

Provide Articles to build to build your site reputation. Good quality articles containing relevant information are always in demand. There are wonderful parts about this. First is that you can submit them to directories. Second you can submit them to articles bases (Article City, Ezine Articles, Go Articles, etc.). When you use them and others request your articles they must use your entire article including your links. Those that use your articles are relevant to your niches creating backlinks to your site.

Link Building

You can purchase links from firms however this is not cost effective and you must be careful with these in relationship to your keywords and who is linking to you. Positive feedback and a quality website is your goal. If you do use this form and you are not satisfied contact the website and ask them to remove your link.

Ask other webmasters to exchange links with you. You can use the search engines and find the niche area of your type.  Remember the other marketers that you have contact with. Contact them too and ask them. This can build a lasting relationship. This form of link building is an important aspect of your marketing in SEO. Note: always remember your anchor text.

What Backlinks Are

For those who do not know what a backlink is, it is an outside link that points to your website. This form manipulates this search engine process exposure when used properly. As mentioned before you need to use relevant sites. When a visitor views another website your link will be displayed. Therefore you have visibility and the chance that they will in turn visit your site.

Look up backlinks and view other sites you are linking to. Make sure that they are of the quality that you want.

Keywords

As always your keywords are of utmost importance. Make your choices carefully using several keywords. Longtail keywords are best sticking to your niche.

Keeping these things in mind will bring about a profitable business n a struggling economy.

New SEO Term Spibalance

January 19, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

I been doing SEO for a very long time now so I thought of helping webmasters with a very common issue. The problem is that most webmasters see their site jumping in and out of the indexed. Today you check and your website is in the index. Next day you wake up in the morning and guess what, your website is no longer there. So why does this happen?
You are not giving spiders what they want.
A similar thing happens when sometimes you are ranked on page three for a keyword, then you go back to page nine, then again to page three and so forth. Your rankings sort of play around, you never know where your website really ranks.
In both cases above one very common thing is happening which I refer to as spibalance.
Just like a balance calculates which side has the largest weight so do spiders. The balance in our case has your website on one side and what spiders require in order to index your website on the other side. When you give them enough of what they need the side with your website on goes down. In other words you get indexed.
If you do not give spiders what they want, the balance will remain neutral and you do not get indexed. So what is that they want to index your website?
It is backlinks.
Now at first you start getting backlinks bit by bit, so the balance starts moving from side to side, sometimes you hit the target and you get indexed. But then again you get de indexed until you have completely out weighed the spiders requirements to index you. Think of the requirements as lots of backlinks located on the other side of the balance.
This same thing does apply to your rankings as well.
But instead of just backlinks, there are other factors that you need to give spiders in order to get the rankings and keep your position. Then improving as well your rankings. In this case the requirements to improve your rankings may increase as well, depends on what your competitors are doing. If you are going to outrank them, you need to get more links then they are getting. Aim to do better then what they are doing because on the balance spiders requirements most often are exactly what the websites that are in the number one position have.
This means the number of links, the quality, the anchor text they use and so forth.
To get indexed for example you do not need to worry about what anchor text to use.
However understand the concept, give the spiders what they want and remember when this happens it is because you are on a spibalance. You learn how many backlinks is enough by experience. Usually doing article submission to a hundred websites is enough. Directory submission less powerful so you may want to do more submissions than just a hundred, probably a thousand.
Article submission can be done using software. This should be done on regular basis, because it is not just good to get indexed but also to improve your rankings.
This is easy, the bottom line is the more backlinks you get the better. Then it depends on you and the amount of work you can do.

SE optimization can be used by every marketer to drive traffic towards his website from the search engines. See Karl’s software, OutRankSmart (ORS)

The Plot Against The Kings Of SEO

Here are some basic strategies so you have the right seo mindset. It will help you solve some headaches, answer some of your questions and reveal to you some insider knowledge of what you should be doing and thinking while doing seo.
Do not worry about your competitors.
You do not want to treat them as kings or enemies. If you just started doing search engine optimization, then your goal is to keep improving and learning new things. This is all about learning, it does not happen by luck.
Your competitors are in the number one position, because they merit it. Focus on what you are doing. If something is not working, then treat it as a learning experience and move on. Do not get stuck, this is like a game. The best players get on top, if you are new you get on top once you become a better player.
You can only get better in this game. The only way to loose is if you give up.
So here is now what you can start doing to move on. You do not have to get things perfect, remember like anything else you have to learn first, then become better.
Give your visitors more value they your competitors.
When you are adding value, you are giving what search engine are looking for. So how can you help your visitors, what do they want that you can give them? Doing this you can accelerate your website growth, get more visitors and more referrals.
Get more backlinks then they have.
This is a bit basic, but it works. If you have more backlinks then they have, chances are you are going to outrank them, sooner or later. So check out how many backlinks they have, from where they got the backlinks and always aim at doing better than what they are doing.
Setup the obvious things properly.
You absolutely need content on your website, either articles, or automatically created content by creating a forum or message board.
It is not enough to just write a bunch of articles or worse copy them from somewhere else. The articles need to be unique. Remember if you grab an article from somewhere else, you have to link to the source. Outbound links, when linking to other websites, will not effect your rankings positively. That is why it is better to create your own content. You avoid linking to other websites.
Likewise, if you create a forum, add the nofollow tag on the useless links. Put a link to your homepage from the forum and link to it from your sitemap or some other webpage. That is how to do it right. You want the forum posts to get indexed, without loosing pagerank.
Small things can make a big difference. Being a bit more careful in what you do will bring better results. You will enjoy more money, freedom and more fun. Books, courses, articles and other seo material does help you and is required in order for you to improve in this game. Do not just put up a website and wait for it to be indexed.

Link Building SEO

You may well have the nicest website design, the best sales copy, logo and product or service but it will all be for nothing if you don’t have any traffic to the site. Traffic means sales and the best way to get free organic traffic is through the main three search engines, Google, yahoo and msn.

The single most important SEO technique to rank high in the search engines is to obtain quality one-way backlinks to your website. That is a link to your website from another website, preferably itself with a high pagerank and related content to that of your website. To quote Google themselves “”webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by increasing the number of high-quality sites that link to their pages”.

If your site is about dog training, there is little use having backlinks from a site related to real estate.

There are many ways to obtain backlinks to your website; directories, article sites and reciprocal linking are just a few.

To ensure you rank highly for specific keywords, your backlink should be included as an ‘anchor text’ link. In other words rather than linking as www.dogtrainingexample.com the link should read ‘Dog Training’ as a keyword phrase. This way you will get credit for the actual link and the keyword phrase associated with the link. In addition try to obtain links from other websites with a high page rank such as pagerank 5 to pagerank 8. The higher the pagerank of the site linking to you the more credible it is in the eyes of the search engine algorithm. A single link from a PR8 website could be worth twenty from a PR0.

You must be careful of techniques such as using link farms which are now being discredited by the search engines and also links from websites with a negative pagerank as these will harm your own rank rather than help.

It is very true that without sufficient link building, your website will not be competitive in the search engine rankings. So if you have a great website that is not getting the traffic it deserves you should look into increasing the number of backlinks as your first port of call to rectify the situation. You owe it to yourself for all the hard work you have put in to your site so far.

The actual process of promoting your website can be much more time consuming than the actual creation or maintenance of the website itself. However, specific SEO companies such as Link Building Elite can help with specific packages designed for this purpose using white hat techniques and unique services from which results can be seen as soon as four weeks.

Eight Things to Avoid Like the Plague in SEO

January 7, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

If you ask the average webmaster what’s safe and what’s risky in the realm of SEO, most will tell you to make an honest site and build backlinks, and don’t try to trick the search engines. While this is a true and good answer, it still doesn’t help you specifically with what not to do. The “bad” list or not so safe ranges from things that make it hard for a search engine spider to crawl your site to things that can get you banned.1. Entirely JavaScript / flash site a bad idea. While some JavaScript and flash add-ins can make for a great web experience, making a site entirely JavaScript or flash will make it hard for a search engine spider to crawl. This will likely result in not getting the search engine results ranking you really deserve Use regular HTML for links, and a sitemap to ensure the website can be crawled.2. Avoid excessive graphics and flash presentations. The reason for this is two fold. This is purely about visitor experience. If a web page takes too long to load (more than a few seconds), the average visitor will quickly hit the back button and you’ve lost your potential visitor. On this same token avoid very large graphics, instead using thumbnails and allowing the visitor to see a large version if they desire.3. Avoid the “quickly get submitted to thousands of search engines” deals. While many of these do what they say, keep in mind that 98-99% of all search engines are powered by Google, Yahoo, or MSN. Just keep these 3 in mind and you’re covered.4. Don’t submit your webpage to search engines too often.Submitting your webpage urn to search engines if it’s new is considered ok (though with backlinks not necessary). Search engines prefer to find your website through backlinks since that is how your webpage gets it reputation and relevance. 5. Avoid keyword stuffing / spamming.Avoid the temptation to use tons of keywords on your webpage only to try to impress search engines and get a higher ranking. Your search engines results ranking depends upon dozens of factors, only one of which is your webpage content. Write your webpage for visitors with your keywords in the back of your mind and you’ll be in good shape.6. Avoid hidden text.Hidden text is where a webmaster tries to hide keyword stuffing in plain sight, with a font color the same or nearly the same as the background. This gears it only towards the search engine, and search engines are very adept at catching this. This is the old trick that everyone knows and can very quickly knock your site ranking to near zero.7. Avoid cloaking. This is when the webpage your give to visitors is different than the one you give to search engines. Normally the one given to search engines is perfectly optimized for them, but search engines obviously don’t like this as the page they index and serve is different than the one that exists for visitors in reality. This can very quickly get your site banned forever from the search engines.8. Don’t forget, backlinks make the site. This is sometimes overlooked, but a website with backlinks plays a small part in the internet and appears to have less relevance. While how your site is ranked for search results has a lot to do with your content, your link popularity is a major part of how important your website is perceived to the search engines. Miss this one, and your traffic will suffer until you right it.As you can see, the list of things to avoid can affect your site from appearing invisible on the internet, to getting outright banned by search engines and knocking out 80-90% of your traffic. In general, try not to misrepresent your website to the search engines. Let them index what visitors see, and don’t modify your website to try to trick the search engines. Just run a site with good content for visitors, and get quality backlinks, and you’re on the right road. Most people know what things to avoid in the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) game. However, many do not fully know what is over the line and to avoid like the plague.

When you do search engine optimization work for your website, are you taking social marketing into account? It’s important to use social media tools when doing off page SEO. When you do this, you’re increasing your backlinks and potential for traffic to your site.
A big part of internet marketing and SEO is social marketing. There are a lot of available free social media SEO tools that you can use to help optimize your website or blog. Search engine optimization strategies work well when they are done while taking into account that the search engines look at relationships and if the sites you want to promote have relationships with other sites, it appears that all those sites are more relevant. Social media is a tool that can help anyone who knows how to effectively use it.
When doing your off page SEO; which includes things that happen outside of your website that will help your website, look for quantity and quality and relevancy. Quantity is always good but if you bring your site 1000 visitors that are not already prequalified as being likely to be interested in what you’re selling, your conversion rate probably won’t be very high.
Quality is important so be sure you’re attracting quality visitors. You wouldn’t direct people in a gambling forum to your Christian book club and vice versa. The more likely your visitor is interested in your information or product, the better. If you’re going to use social marketing tools to help your business flourish, look for relevancy and the right demographics.
Search engines do look at relevancy so there are things you can do to help your SEO efforts such as:
- Join community forums in your niche. You can find them in abundance. Post often and put your website in your signature. Not only will you network and get backlinks from a related site but you’ll be sharing information with people that are likely going to be interested in what you have to sell. The community forum signature line is very good for SEO so use it to your full advantage.
- Join microblogging sites like Twitter and Plurk and network with people interested in your niche. You can post an update to new product releases and blogs. These sites may not seem like much at first glance but the more users you follow and the more that follow you, the better your traffic and SEO can be.
- If your site is a blog, join blogging networks like Technorati, MyBlogLog or Blog Catalog so people can find you based on tags and categories
- Use social bookmark tools like StumbleUpon and Digg. You can get additional backlinks and visitors this way.
- Join online profile sites which can help you put your URL in your profile and increase your backlinks. There are dozens of sites like this that you can join for free and put your URL or multiple URLs into.
Search engine optimization is an ongoing effort that can bring you fruit in both search engines and in terms of valuable traffic. On page SEO will help you once people get to your site so don’t forget to learn SEO tactics for optimizing on your website as well.

SEO – Four Steps To Quick Success

January 1, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me “So how do you do Search Engine Optimisation”, I’m sure I would have been able to buy a house with the proceeds by now.
The short answer is that there is not a magic formula to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), you can’t just change a few things and the website will appear on the first page of the results for a competitive search phrase.
When my clients ask what SEO actually is, I tell them that it is positioning a website in the top results on the search engines. This is done by on-page optimisation and off-page optimisation.
There are key elements when it comes to doing SEO and all must be met or your website is doomed from the start.
1) Have your keywords in your title tags
2) Make sure your website copy has your keywords in it
3) Have backlinks pointing back to your site
4) Have your Keywords in the backlinks.
To explain what I mean in point four: All websites should have backlinks pointing back to themselves. In addition, they need to have their keywords included in the backlinks – This is called anchor text.
Having anchor text in your backlinks is vitally important, and will help your website rank much, much faster.
Aged domains also play a big part in a websites success, this means that search engines favour older domains – usually over twelve months old.
If you own a website that is at least a year old it would be far more beneficial to use that particular site rather than registering and creating a new site.
Also having your keywords in your domain name is of great benefit when it comes to SEO. It is estimated that a website with its particular keywords in it will rank ten times faster than websites that don’t.
Including your keywords in your sub pages also helps a lot.

How to Build Backlinks Via Google Alerts

December 28, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

I am a member of many online forums. Most of these forums have to do with online marketing and site promotion. Recently, I came across a post on Ken Evoy’s SBI forum that truly caught my attention.A Social Community for Webmasters! It basically described how to use Google Alerts to build your backlinks. Now for those not familiar with Google Alerts a little explanation is probably needed.Google AlertsGoogle Alerts is a free program run by Google that allows you to keep track of any topic on the web. You select your “keywords” or “urls” and Google will alert you via email whenever links/ content containing your selected topics appear anywhere on the web.It is an excellent way to keep informed about your domain or name. It is also perfect for keeping up-to-date on the latest information in your market niche or niches. It’s also a great way to find out what other people are saying about you or your site. For example: if you have a site on “antique cars” then you would create a Google Alert for those keywords. Google will alert you by email whenever a new link/content related to those keywords appears on the web. This is a great way to stay informed in your niche, but it is also a valuable source of potential linking partners. Many of those links are blogs that will allow comments with a link back to your site.Google Alerts will probably send you 10-20 links each day, depending on the popularity of your chosen keywords. Just go to these blogs/links and see if you can leave a comment with some valuable additional information on what’s been discussed.Don’t SpamPlease Note: Don’t spam; there are intelligent people behind most of these blogs, and they will recognize keyword spam when they see it. Your main goal should be getting targeted traffic back to your site and any link PR should be secondary. Always put the reader or viewer first, especially if it’s on someone else’s site. Don’t talk about your site or your marketing – just join the conversation and add your comments/opinions/suggestions…Get Search Engine Rankings You Can Be Proud Of!Enhance their site and they will reward you with traffic and a link. But you still have to keep your interests in the equation! You have to make sure you get your targeted keywords in the anchor text.Keyword Marketfirst, if you’ve done your homework, your main keywords should already be in your domain name or url. Another way is to add your “keywords” + “guide” to your sig or signature. Such as: Name, Your Antique Cars Guide. If you’re an expert in your particular niche, many webmasters will kindly welcome your comments and links.Since your main goal is the traffic, many webmasters don’t worry if there is a “no follow” attribute attached to the link. But if you are concerned about this – one way is to look at the source code to see if it has the “no follow” tag. I usually copy the whole source code of the page to my text editor and then do a simple “no follow” search. No FollowThere is also a great little free comment tool called “Comment Kahuna” co-created by Jason Potash which will search blogs and tell you if they have the “no-follow” attribute or not, it will also give you the PageRank of each blog post. If you’re going to use blogs as a source of your backlinks, I suggest you try Comment Kahuna – it will make the task much easier and it’s free.Actually, while the “no-follow” issue may be a concern for some webmasters, the savvy ones will realize these are links/sites Google is actively indexing and spidering, otherwise you wouldn’t get the alert in the first place. You must get your links into this whole mix of related, relevant sites to help raise your rankings. Also remember the other search engines may not even consider the “no-follow” tag.TrackbacksLikewise, creating trackbacks are another way of linking relevant content. Keep in mind, a trackback is simply an acknowledgement via a ping signal that is sent from Site A (originator) to Site B (receptor). Then the receptor often places a link back to Site A showing its worthiness.Forget Expensive PPC Advertising – There is an Alternative! Other Linking OptionsSince we are on the topic of link building, another useful way to build backlinks is to use Google Search or Google Blog search. Now if you’re looking for niche-related blogs just type in:”(Keywords)” “powered by (blog scripts)”For example, if you’re looking for some “antique cars” related links on WordPress blogs, you would search for:”antique cars” “powered by wordpress”And Google would give you a whole list of sites on antique cars. Now if you want to find the links that will allow comments, just repeat the Google search with:”antique cars” “powered by wordpress” “leave a comment” -”no comments”Remember the “-” means posts that have no comments will not be displayed. If you’re concerned with PageRank, Number of Backlinks, Alexa Ranking… of particular posts you can download and install the SEOQuake plugin. This handy SEO plugin can be attached to your browser and will give you helpful SEO information on the link or links you’re viewing.Just remember, finding quality backlinks is probably the most tedious job for most webmasters. It takes time and it takes patience. By using Google Alerts you can have relevant keyword related links emailed to you each day. Use this information to help build your backlinks in relevant related niches. Do this consistently over a period of time and your site will get noticed and ranked higher.

Senuke Review ~ SEO Scam?

December 26, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Is SEnuke a Scam or some kind of spamming SEO software? For those who don’t know, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It’s the process of optimizing and improving your web pages with certain keywords or keyword phrases so that they are ranked highly by the search engines on their result pages. In this review, I will share my honest opinion about SEnuke. What is SEnuke?Essentially, it’s a new generation SEO software created by Joe Russell and Areeb Bajwa. I haven’t heard of these guys before but they’re not important as the purpose of this review is to look at the software and see what kind of benefits it can offer to the users. By the way, you can try the software out for 7 days FREE! The trial version is fully functional. Before I explain what SEnuke does, let me first touch on the subject of SEO briefly. When it comes to SEO, you’ll often hear these two phrases: “On-Page SEO” and “Off-Page SEO”.On-page SEO is very simple, it includes using your keywords as the title of your article or web page, heading tags and spreading the keywords naturally in your article body. On-page SEO used to be the only thing that really mattered. Many years ago, all you had to do to get onto the first page of a search engine was stuff your pages and meta tags full of the same keyword over and over. But those good old days of easily exploiting the search engines had gone forever. Today search engines are a lot smarter, they’ve catched on and will penalize sites that repeated keywords too often in their meta tags or title. They will ban sites that are trying to exploit them. Major search engines (particularly Google) now have unique algorithms that virtually eliminated all these on-page spam techniques.Google in particular also has included another ranking system to help determine the importance of a site. It rewards sites that have a large number of QUALITY sites linking back to them. So, sites that have many high quality backlinks are often ranked highly by Google. This is Off-Page SEO!If you own websites, you know that getting backlinks is not easy. You need to have a very high quality sites in order for other sites to want to link to you. With SEnuke, you can quickly create unlimited backlinks to your sites, increasing your traffic and your search engine rankings at the same time. If you’ve been struggling to get backlinks, SEnuke is for you.Basically, how SEnuke works is to notify 65 of the Internet’s most visited Web 2.0, video, RSS and social bookmarking sites about your website or offer. Of course, you can do this manually if you have a team of workers, working around the clock for you. But, who can afford to hire a team of workers? With SEnuke software, all this can be accomplished with just a few clicks of a button. This is a huge time-saver.I now use SEnuke to submit my unique articles to high-traffic web 2.0 sites, bookmarking and notify RSS by using the “RSS Aggregator Nuke” and “Social Bookmark Nuke” features. What normally take hours can now be accomplished in just a few minutes. It’s a huge time-saver indeed!Besides getting more quality links to your sites, other major benefits of using SEnuke is increased web traffic as more of your web pages are landed on the first page of the search engines’ result pages. As a result, you’ll also experience an increase number of sales and Adsense income as well.Is there any BAD point? One complaint I have is the SEnuke Article Rewriter or Spinner. I hardly use this feature because the spun articles have low quality. I rather spend some time and write my own unique articles. I don’t recommend you to use the article rewriter.Another thing I want to highlight is that SEnuke was not designed as a BlackHat tool or spamming machine. If you use it to spam, it will hurt your website’s ranking instead because the search engines (particularly Google) have the resources and are always working hard to counteract any spam or unethical technique. So, please use the tool as it was intended to be used if you don’t want your site being banned by Google.I hope you find this review informative.Great Bonus For Those Who Try SEnuke Today! To sweeten the deal, I have included some great bonuses to go with SEnuke if you try it today. These bonuses are worth more than $1,000 and are specially selected to help you achieve your online success faster (see link below).Check out the bonus at: SEnuke Bonus Page.

Dw230; Seo-search Engine Optimization: Get the Basic Scoop on Seo

December 24, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) needs to be a factor in an online home based business. Starting a website is a way to get your name, interests and what you have to offer out on the World Wide Web.

DW230 is a Japanese search engine that allows quick searches utilizing Google, Yahoo and MSN.

A vast majority of internet users use search engines to find what they are looking for. As an online entrepreneur it is beneficial to know what search engines look for when they return search results. Having a website would be a waste of time without the proper SEO.

When you have a Website with information that has proven to be of great interest to the online community you will have to optimize it to drive traffic from search engines.

The amount of search volume generated by keywords and terms is the building block for search engine optimization. Your websites content should be directly related relevant to one topic. This will allow search engine algorithms to determine how to index your website.

Indexing is how search engines store websites so they will have relevant information to return when users perform a search

.

SEO; for keywords and phrases:

To determine how often words and phrases are looked up in search engines go to:

www.seo2020.com/seo-tools/keyword-research/keyword-research-tool/

Type in “Work at Home Business”. You see it generates over 37,000 in monthly search volume. (at the time this article was written)

Search volume needs to be the basis of what you’re looking for and how many other sites are competing for the same word or phrases should also be considered. Your website content should focus on providing quality content surrounding your keywords or phrases.

*Note: focusing on keywords does not mean repeating them over and over within your content. It has been said that Google considers websites with repetitive keywords as “spammy”.

If Google labels your website as spammy you will have difficulty getting indexed and ranked. So beware!

Search engine optimization entails many things but one goal is to provide search engines with websites they can identify to be of value.

“Quality content is discussed in the Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) article on my webpage.”

Having quality backlinks is another common but sometimes overlooked SEO strategy. Posting your website content to article and search engine directories is one way of achieving multiple backlinks. Obtaining quality backlinks is the most time consuming part of SEO and it is recommended that this process be outsourced.

The results you see from backlinks can take several months but the page rank and traffic you will obtain from it is astounding.

This is not an overnight process, SEO takes time (I will repeat this fact throughout the article)!

For HTML websites you can optimize for search engine robots by adding specific tags in your source code. For example:

* Search engine optimization: get the basic scoop on SEO.

* seo,search engine optimization,Internet,online business .

* You can not successfully run an Internet business without SEO. Familiarize yourself with Search Engine * Optimization today.

You should also have your keyword or phrase in your article/content headings. When search engine robots crawl your webpage they will find that your title specifies what the webpage is about. The keyword meta tag will further specify what terms will be discussed in your content (no need for a space between the commas). The description meta tag is how your webpage will appear in the search index.

This is basic SEO information. I suggest you do all of the basics then outsource the rest. There are many companies that stay abreast of changes in all search engines. The value of outsourcing SEO is that it allows you to:

1. Grow your business

2. Free up time for you to start another website.

Ultimately you are trying to ensure your webpage appears in search engine results when someone does a search on your topic or keyword/phrase.

Lets Flash forward:

You have built a highly optimized website with a highly searched keyword phrase that has multiple articles which are spin-offs of you keyword/phrase. For instance:

* Work at Home: (phrase)

* Work at home jobs

* Work at home business

* Work at home opportunities

So you would have the main “phrase” as your home page and 3 different pages with articles. These are broad topics used for example only, you can ultimately get more detailed in your subjects. Remember each article must have a keyword density of no more than 12%. Some will argue the percentage of keyword density your article should have. My suggestion would be to have a non internet marketer proof read your article and ask them if they feel your keyword phrase is repeated to often.

Again, be very light with the density (no more than 12%). Keyword density has increasingly become less important to search engine robots as it can be viewed as spam if over used. What search engine bots do find important is what synonymic terms are used with your keywords.

On your website, the home page links to each article page and each article links to the subsequent article. No article will link to the previous article or to the homepage within the article content. Place a “Sitemap” link and “contact us” links on each article page. The aforementioned is a basic website linking structure which will allow search bots to move fluidly through your website without running into broken links. This is important for search engine optimization because it will allow the robots to crawl your entire site. When you link from one page to the next have the link as far down in the article as possible. This will allow the search engine bots to fully crawl your articles. If unable to naturally incorporate the next page link in your article text you can create a visual line break between the bottom of your article and add the link to the next page below it.

Submit your homepage URL to multiple WEBSITE directories to get your site indexed (outsource). There are paid and unpaid web directory services. I’d suggest using the unpaid services for now. Search engine robots frequently scan web directories for information so you need to have your website in a directory to get indexed.

Once your website is indexed submit each of your ARTICLES to article directories (outsource).

Do a search on “search engine friendly directories”. Do not waste your time with new directories or directories with low page rank.

Keep your website optimized and with fresh content by adding two articles a week and do not forget to submit them to article directories.

Adding just 2 articles per week will allow search engines to see natural website growth which studies have shown to be favored against automated article generation that adds 50 or so articles a week or a day.

Search engine optimization (SEO) takes time, in most cases you will not see results overnight.

As mentioned before; for a fee, companies will optimize your website and submit them to directories, but beware, you get what you pay for.

For instance, some companies advertise they will submit your website to 1000 search engine friendly directories for $100. More than likely these companies will not give your site the proper submission it deserves.

Submitting articles to search engine directories is a time consuming task and it is not cheap. On the other hand, when your site is submitted to the right directories the rewards are astounding.

It is only worth getting a website optimized if people have genuine interest in the information you offer. There is a substantial amount of time involved with submitting content to directories and in order to grow your Home Based Business you may need to find a auto submitter that will allow you to input your information and submit to hundreds of directories with the click of your mouse.
